This year I am very excited to be offering on line JKD Lessons. Over the years I have been contacted by many martial artists who have a desire to learn the art of Jun Fan/Jeet Kune Do & Filipino Martial Arts. However, there are no schools for JKD/FMA in their area. DVD's and "YouTube" clips will only go so far. You can learn a random and scattered amount of techniques from a bunch of different sources. Many students are looking for something more structured. These on line lessons are also a great way to reach my long distance students here in the northeast consistently. It also allows me to offer our JKD curriculum to those people who aren't able to train at my academy.
Our JKD program works with a structured, set curriculum. As students progress through the program, they begin to form and mold it to work for them. The JKD mantra is the "art" works for YOU. You don't work for the art. Our web lessons come right from the curriculum at Derderian Academy.
We do not offer video rank or video instructorships. Other instructors do offer this and that is their choice. I prefer to rank students in person. Instructors licenses are given when a student meets the criteria. Being a long distance student is challenging and difficult. Many martial artists have become excellent instructors through this method. If you learn the material taught on our web lessons and think you have what it takes to teach, contact me.
